First Poster Presentation (CSCW '24)
šļø Pura vida from San Jose, Costa Rica! Iām thrilled to share highlights from CSCW ā24, where I had the incredible opportunity to present my first poster: Supporting Healthcare Providersā Motivations for Caring for Patients in Underserved Communities. This project is led by my advisor, Professor Ji Youn Shin, and it is a collaborative effort with my other amazing co-authors, Alisha Ghaju, May Hang. Iām very grateful for all the encouragement and insightful feedback from the CSCW community.
Our poster addresses a critical challenge contributing to health disparities within immigrant communities: healthcare providersā challenges in staying motivated to serve these underserved populations. Drawing from semi-structured interviews with 15 dedicated healthcare providers, we share our findings, including the three key motivations shared by the providers, and outline potential future directions.
